Medals

The Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps has available a large amount of medals and rewards that you can receive throughout your career. Receiving a medal can be as simple as winning a squadron competition to be awarded the simple Iron Star with Bronze Wings (IS-BW), all the way up to rare and difficult to receive high echelon medals such as the Gold Star of the Empire (GS), Grand Order of the Emperor (GoE), and the coveted Medal of Honor (MoH). The higher medals require months, even years, of dedicated service and very hard work. As a new Flight Member, the first Merit Medal you will be eligible to receive is the Imperial Security Medal (ISM). If you wish to receive this medal, impress your Squadron Commander with your flying activity and always be the first to participate in competitions.

For a detailed list of medals that you can receive while in the TIE Corps, refer to the TIE Corps Pilot's Manual.

ID Lines

When communicating with other members via email and message board, it is considered common courtesy (and often protocol in official messages) to sign your message with your personal ID line. Your ID line allows other members to immediately identify who you are and where you are assigned in the fleet, and also allows you to display your completed IWATS courses, medals, and your Fleet Commander's Honor Guard (FCHG) rank.

The ID line structure looks like this (remove quotes when adding in your information):

"Position"/"Rank" "Your Name"/"Unit" "Designation"/"Wing"/"Ship"
"Medals" ["FCHG Ranking"] {"IWATS Courses Completed"}

As a brand new Cadet, you will not currently have any medals or hold a FCHG rank. Once you complete IWATS Core, you will be able to add the {IWATS} designation to your ID line. Additional courses will be displayed after "IWATS" in the {IWATS} designation.

An example of an experienced pilot's ID Line would look like this:

FM/LT John Doe/Alpha 2-3/Wing VI/ISD Warrior
PC/ISMx2/IS-BW [GALL] {IWATS-BFM}

In this example, you should immediately be able to conclude that this is Lieutenant John Doe, a Flight Member currently assigned to Alpha Squadron Flight 2, Position 3 of Wing VI onboard the ISD Warrior. His medals include a Palpatine Crescent, two Imperial Security Medals, and an Iron Star with Bronze Wings. He is a Gallant in the Fleet Commander's Honor Guard and has completed the IWATS course Basic Flight Maneuvers.

It is generally considered good e-mail etiquette that if you have a very long ID Line due to medals and IWATS courses, you only include the first line of your ID line to reduce clutter in the message. Most officers with large ID lines only include their full line in official message such as reports or important announcement. Also, if you are a member of another group in the Emperor's Hammer, only include the ID line associated with the character for which you are communicating with.

If you ever have trouble remembering your ID Line, you can always find it on your personnel profile at the TIE Corps database.
