Although position primarily determines the exact status of a member, rank is also used to determine status, as well as set minimum requirements for positions. It should be noted that position always takes precedence over rank, i.e. the member with the higher position is the higher member in status.

Cadet (CT) - This is the rank assigned to all Trainees who have not yet completed their initial training. SL
Sub-Lieutenant (SL) - This is the first non-training rank; the initial rank of a Flight Member. SL
Lieutenant (LT) - This is the typical rank of a Flight Member. A Sub-Lieutenant is promoted to this rank after completing at least one custom mission, passing an IWATS course, or by participating in an official competition. This is the minimum rank for a Flight Leader. LT
Lieutenant Commander (LCM) - This rank is given to exceptional Flight Members and Flight Leaders. LCM
Commander (CM) - This rank is given to exceptional Flight Members and is the minimum rank given to newly assigned Squadron Commanders. CM
Captain (CPT) - This rank is given to exceptional Flight Members, Flight Leaders, and Squadron Commanders. CPT
Major (MAJ) - This rank is given to exceptional Flight Members, Flight Leaders, and Squadron Commanders. It is also the minimum rank given to newly assigned Wing Commanders. This is the highest attainable rank for Flight Members. MAJ
Lieutenant Colonel (LC) - This rank is given to exceptional Flight Leaders, Squadron Commanders, and Wing Commanders. LC
Colonel (COL) - This rank is given to exceptional Flight Leaders, Squadron Commanders, and Wing Commanders. It is also given to Admirals who are reassigned to a FM, FL, CMDR, or WC position. This is the highest attainable rank for Flight Leaders. COL
General (GN) - This is the highest line rank available to TIE Corps pilots. It is used to promote exceptional Wing Commanders and Squadron Commanders. GN
Rear Admiral (RA) - This is rank is given to entry level, newly assigned members of the Admiralty Board. It is the minimum rank for the Combat Operations Officer, Dean of IWATS, and Strategic Operations Officer. RA
Vice Admiral (VA) - This rank is given to exceptional members of the Admiralty Board. VA
Admiral (AD) - This rank is given to exceptional members of the Admiralty Board, and is also the minimum appointment rank for the TIE Corps Commander. AD
Fleet Admiral (FA) - This rank is given to exceptional members of the Admiralty Board, including the TIE Corps Commander. This is the highest attainable rank for the Combat Operations Officer, the Dean of IWATS, and the Strategic Operations Officer. FA
High Admiral (HA) - This rank is given to an exceptional TIE Corps Commander, and is also the highest attainable rank for that position. HA
Sector Admiral (SA) - This rank is given to the Executive Officer of the Emperor's Hammer only. SA
Grand Admiral (GA) - This rank is given to the Fleet Commander of the Emperor's Hammer only. GA
