The TIE Corps is an independent group of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet, a large organization of Imperial remnants set at the beginning of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.

The TIE Corps works on the model of a military dictatorship. It uses a military construct with a chain of command focused around a central figure - the Emperor's Hammer Fleet Commander. The Fleet Commander has ultimate authority in all decisions that has to do with any group in the Emperor's Hammer, including the TIE Corps. The Fleet Commander is the head of the highest echelon of the Emperor's Hammer, called the Emperor's Hammer Command Staff. These officers hold massive power (both on IRC and in relation to everyday club actions), possess high rank (Vice Admiral is the minimum rank for appointment to a CS position) and usually have extensive knowledge and experience.

The TIE Corps contains it's own command echelon known as the Admiralty Board. At the top of the Admiralty Board and in direct command of the group is the TIE Corps Commander, or TCCOM. The TCCOM is also a member of the Emperor's Hammer Command Staff and as such serves as a link between the general membership of the TIE Corps and the Emperor's Hammer Command Staff.

The TIE Corps consists of a fleet of ships, and as an active pilot you will be assigned to one of these ships. Each ship has one Wing, commanded by a Wing Commander, that consists of several fighter squadrons, which can number up to 6 per wing. Squadrons, commanded by a Squadron Commander, is the smallest independent unit in the TIE Corps and consists of up to 12 pilots. Squadrons are further broken down into three Flights of four pilots each. Flights are led by a Flight Leader, but a Flight is not an actual independent unit and the Flight Leader does not hold any actual command responsibility.
